Cherished moments

I pray God allows me to be consistent in cherishing the moments of this life with the ones I love.
This paragraph I took from Doug Phillips on a blog post, it rang true in my heart.
God is using the Sabbath to help me remember to do this.....
And this is what I feel compelled to say: Tonight, stop and take a really good look at your spouse. Next, look at each of your children. Look really, really long and hard. Take a moment and thank God for every whisper of a moment that God has given you with them. Thank God for the little kisses offered, the stories told, the tickles dispensed, the games played, the readings shared, the silent moments cherished, the victories experienced, the losses endured, the kind words presented , the songs sung, the glances exchanged. These moments not only count for eternity, but they will be remembered for the next billion years after you leave this minuscule moment in time called “life.” Every moment with your loved one matters. Someday they or you will be gone. Every conversation matters. Every kind deed in the name of Christ matters. It all matters.

Grace and Peace to you....

Happy Thanksgiving

I've been reading and searching William Bradford's "Of Plymouth Plantation" and am definately intrigued and challenged by their experiences. It has truly made me more grateful and caused me to praise God for His Provision of the Pilgrims at New Plymouth.
Doug Phillips of Vision Forum has some good stuff on his blog regarding the Pilgrims and New Plymouth. Here's his blog link...

Check it out if you get a chance. There is a video if you scroll back a couple of days that speaks to Boston, England and Boston, MA. USA.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Questions to cue

Over the past few weeks I've been teaching the girls that we should fear God and love God.
In explaining things simply to them, I have been and want to continue to give them cues in order to help impress it into their minds....and eventually their hearts. For example, I have cued them with the simple question "Who do we fear?" After they answer with "God!" I ask a list of other things, animals, people, questioning them quickly if we should fear these.
It has been the same with love, only the list starts with God, "Who do we love with all our heart, soul, mind and might?" and then continues through various people they know. The list ususlly includes Sugar, our Chiwawa.
Cues.....
So, whom do we fear? God Alone!
Whom do we love with all our heart, soul, mind and might? God
Do we love......? Yes.

The next cue I want to give for the girls to have in their hearts eventually is...Strength and Dignity....
"Strength and Dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future."

One for the Ages

One for the Ages is to be a place for me to communicate with those who are close to me matters of importance. I will attempt also to document beliefs and reasons for those beliefs. This is the bigger picture....the generations after me shall benefit from my writing, communicating where I stand and what I want them to know. It will help me be diligent in training up my children and casting vision for them. May God bless this endeavor!

4 books on my list to read:
Shepherding a Child's Heart
Stark Family History (Missouri Historical Society Bulletin-1966)
Storey's Country Living Skills
Of Plymouth Plantation
